Holi has a historical and spiritual significance and is
cited in many ancient Hindu types of literature. According to a legend, there
was a king named 'Hiranyakashyapu' . But Prahlad, the king's own son, refused to
obey his father and turned into a lush devotee of Lord Vishnu.
This left the
king infuriated. He asked her sister 'Holika', who possessed the boon of being
resistant, to pulverize Prahlad. Holika, with Prahlad in her lap, took a chair
in a blazing fire. She was sure she could never be harmed by the fire, but that
time she was misconceived and burnt to death, and Prahlad walked from fire.
It's thought the festival got its name from this episode, and is celebrated for
the victory of good over evil, that.
One more legend is there behind observing this festival with
colors. Putna turned to be a gorgeous woman, and proceeded to Nandgaon village
to kill each child there. She made infant Krishna suck her breast with strength
to kill him. However, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Krishna, sucked on her to
departure. The village has been extremely joyful and celebrated the eve with
lightning bonfires. The very next day has been celebrated with colors and
dishes.
Holi is celebrated throughout the country, but in places
like Mathura, Nandgaon, and Vrindavan, it has its own charm. People today
celebrate it with dedication and good energy. The 'Lathmaar Holi' of Barshana
and Nandgaon is far-famed.
Men from Nandgao foray to Barshana to increase their
flag and they are welcomed by girls of Barshana with long rods. One
can buy a customized package from a travel company that is reputed to plan a
Jaipur travel to visit to Mathura. Colours, fire sweets symbolize nothing but also the festival
of colours and joy.

On the eve of the day that was vibrant, the fire is
worshipped. On this day that the woods are ordered in the kind of a time. Women

(Though the ritual differs from each part of the country)

Mythological Significance
Holi gets us close to our faith and our mythology as it's
basically legends associated with the festival's celebration.
Foremost is the legend of Hiranyakshyap and Prahlad. The
legend claims there lived Hiranyakshyap who wanted everybody to worship him and
considered himself a god, a powerful and devil king. His son, to his great ire,
Prahlad started to worship, Lord Vishnu. To get rid of his son, Hiranyakshyap
asked his sister, Holika to input a fire with Prahlad in her lap, as she had a
blessing. Legend has it while Holika paid a price for her desire that Prahlad
was rescued because of his intense dedication for its lord. The custom of
trimming Holika or the'Holika Dahan' comes from this particular legend.

In any case, the colours when sprayed on the body have a
great impact on it. Biologists consider the liquid dye or Abeer penetrates the
body and enters into the pores. It has the effect of strengthening the ions in
the body and adds beauty and health to it.
There is another rationale for observing the Holi, this
pertains to the heritage of Holika Dahan. The mutation period of winter and
spring induces the growth of bacteria in the entire body as well as in the
atmosphere. The temperature rises to about 145 degrees Fahrenheit when Holika
is burnt. After the tradition when folks perform Parikrama around the flame, the warmth from the flame kills the bacteria
within the body thus, cleansing it.
Some also believe that play with colors helps to promote
decent health as colors are said to have a great impact on our health and the
body. Doctors and western-Physicians feel that for a body, colours to have a
significant place besides another elements that are vital. Disease, which may
be treated after supplementing the body is caused by the lack of a specific
color in our body. People get rid of mosquitoes and other pests and their
homes. A clean house makes the residents feel nice and create energies.
This is how, the importance of holi is explained in breif. So from the bottom of my heart enjoy the festival of colors to all my viewes and audience.
